What Model Motion Studio does
Set the promise and show the finished result before explaining controls.SAY THIS
Welcome to Model Motion Studio. This is where a 3D-print file, CAD model, or presentation-ready 3D model becomes a polished product video—without building a scene in a traditional 3D animation program.
You bring the model. The Studio detects its size, helps you set the correct starting orientation, applies professional motion and materials, and renders a high-resolution PNG or MP4 directly in your browser.
In this lesson, I will take one model through the complete workflow. By the end, you will know where every important control lives and why you would use it.
CHAPTER 02
The three-part workspace
Make the interface feel predictable before the first click.SAY THIS
The workspace has three simple areas. The tabs on the left are the production order. The live 3D viewer in the center shows what you are creating. The panel on the right contains only the controls for the step you selected.
The workflow moves from Model and Rotate through Motion, Finish, Background, Branding, Still Shot, and Export. You do not need to memorize that order—the interface keeps it in front of you.
At the bottom of the viewer, the six view buttons jump to 3D, Front, Back, Left, Right, or Top. Viewer Zoom changes how large the product appears on screen.
CHAPTER 03
Import, size, and units
Import confidently and explain what the detected measurements mean.SAY THIS
Start in the Model tab. Drop a supported file into the upload area or click to browse. Model Motion Studio accepts GLB, GLTF, OBJ, STL, PLY, STEP, STP, IGES, IGS, BREP, and BRP files.
The Studio measures the visible bounding box and displays Width, Height, and Depth. GLB and CAD formats usually provide a known scale. STL, OBJ, and PLY files are often unitless, so you can choose the unit label that matches the program where the file was created.
Changing a unit label does not repair or reshape geometry. It tells the Studio how to describe the measurements. If a model looks unexpectedly huge or tiny, a unit mismatch is the first thing to check.
GLB is the easiest choice when materials and textures matter. STEP is excellent for engineering geometry. STL is dependable for 3D-print geometry, but it usually arrives without color or presentation materials.
CHAPTER 04
Set and save the starting orientation
Make “down is down” and remove confusion between camera orbit and model rotation.SAY THIS
Imported models open in a neutral front view. If the product is already upright, do not fix what is not broken. Click Save Rotation and continue.
If it is sideways or upside down, use the six rotation buttons. Tip Forward and Tip Backward rotate it on one axis. Turn Left and Turn Right change which side faces forward. Roll Left and Roll Right place it onto its side or bring it upright.
Every click turns the actual model exactly ninety degrees. When the product looks correct, click Save Rotation and Continue to Motion. That saved pose becomes the starting position for every motion, still, and export.
If you go the wrong direction, use the opposite button or choose Reset Rotation. No interpretive dance is required.
CHAPTER 05
Choose and tune the motion

The Motion tab contains ten ready-made product movements. Full 360° is the clearest inspection view. Classy and LUX create premium presentations. Detail Showcase and Cinematic Reveal are useful when geometry or craftsmanship matters. Modern Montage, Impact Montage, and FLASH add more advertising energy.
Click any effect to preview it immediately. Play and Pause control the current preview. Replay starts it again from the beginning. Reverse runs the same effect in the opposite direction.
Motion Speed controls how quickly the movement travels through its sequence. Video Time sets the final clip length from three to thirty seconds. Camera Zoom controls the product size in frame from fifty to three hundred percent.
These controls work together. A slower speed with a longer time feels deliberate. A tighter zoom makes details more dramatic, but do not crop away the feature you are trying to sell.
For a safe first result, choose Classy, leave speed at one, set ten seconds, and use roughly one hundred fifteen percent zoom.
CHAPTER 06
Apply real-world materials
Show the expanded material library and explain Original versus overrides.SAY THIS
Finish is the material library. Original preserves imported materials and textures. The remaining categories let you explore surfaces the product could actually be made from: concrete, plaster, stone, wood, aluminum, steel, brass, copper, chrome, plastics, silicone, rubber, composites, and carbon fiber.
These are not flat color swatches. The surfaces combine color, roughness, fine relief, reflections, and directional detail. They carry into both still shots and MP4 exports.
Custom Material Color tints the selected surface without removing its texture. Use it when the material is correct but the product color needs to match a brand or concept.
Once the material works, click Next: Choose Background. That button keeps the workflow moving forward without making you hunt for the next tab.
CHAPTER 07
Backgrounds and branding
Build a useful scene and explain transparent stills versus MP4.SAY THIS
Background controls the scene around the product. Light is a clean default. Dark and Black add contrast for bright or reflective models. White works well for catalog and marketplace images.
Transparent PNG removes the background from still shots. Standard H.264 MP4 video cannot preserve transparency, so video exports automatically use the Light studio instead.
You can also upload a PNG, JPG, or WebP background. Use a studio set, room, lifestyle photo, gradient, or branded graphic. Choose Replace when you want another image and Remove to return to the Light studio.
Branding adds a company logo in the corner and an optional centered watermark. Each asset has its own display switch, so it can remain uploaded without appearing in every project.
CHAPTER 08
Capture a high-resolution still
Create an exact composition for listings, presentations, and print.SAY THIS
Still Shot captures the exact composition in the viewer as a separate high-resolution PNG. Pause the motion first when you want one exact animated frame.
Choose Landscape for presentations and most websites, Square for marketplaces and social grids, or Vertical for stories, reels, and mobile-first layouts.
High Resolution is faster. Ultra 4K provides more detail for listings, presentations, print layouts, and future crops. The current material, background, logo, and watermark are included.
Leave intentional space around the model if another design program will add pricing, headlines, or a call to action.
CHAPTER 09
Export the MP4
Choose the delivery format and set realistic rendering expectations.SAY THIS
Export renders the selected movement as a high-quality H.264 MP4. Choose Landscape sixteen by nine, Square one by one, or Vertical nine by sixteen.
Full HD is the practical everyday choice. Ultra 4K is best when detailed close-ups, large displays, or future crops justify the extra rendering time.
Confirm the motion, aspect, resolution, and duration in the export summary, then click Download MP4 Video.
Rendering happens locally in the browser. Keep the tab open until the progress reaches one hundred percent. Longer videos, 4K output, and complex models naturally require more processing.
Marketplace and social requirements change, so confirm the current specifications for the destination before final delivery.
CHAPTER 11
Fast fixes and a confident finish
End with the most common fixes and a clear repeatable workflow.SAY THIS
If a model is sideways, return to Rotate, correct it in ninety-degree steps, and save the rotation. If a model has no color, choose a material or import a textured GLB. If GLTF textures are missing, export a single GLB instead. If a CAD assembly opens slowly, use a simplified export or presentation-ready GLB.
The complete workflow is Import, Confirm, Rotate, Animate, Style, and Export. Once you complete it one time, every future project is simply a better creative decision inside the same familiar path.

Now import one real model and make the first version. You can improve version two after version one exists.
